If you're looking for a great deal on one of the best smartphones of 2013, Amazon is offering the Verizon HTC One for $49.99 instead of the $149.99 Verizon charges.

The HTC One has been widely viewed as one of the best smartphones to be released this year. That title is usually reserved for Apple and Samsung, but HTC has hit it out of the park with the HTC One. The company decided to take the best ingredients from Apple and Samsung when building the HTC One. HTC took Apple's superior design abilities on board by using an aluminum unibody case and gorgeous glass display. It took Samsung's love of using high-end specs in its flagship smartphones and went all in with the HTC One. HTC included its own special touches such as Sense 5 and BlinkFeed software, its HTC UltraPixel camera, and BoomSound, which have all been highlighted in many reviews of the smartphone.

The handset is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and runs Android 4.1.2 and HTC Sense 5.0 with BlinkFeed. It includes 32GB of internal storage and has 2GB of RAM.

Its camera capabilities include an HTC UltraPixel rear camera with HTC Zoe support and dedicated HTC ImageChip, 88 wide-angle lens with HDR capability, as well as 1080p video recording on both its front and rear cameras. The HTC One is also the first smartphone to boast dual front-facing stereo speakers with HTC BoomSound, which also includes built-in amplifiers with Beats Audio. In terms of wireless connectivity, the HTC One features a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and GPS. The handset also comes with an infrared universal remote control with program guide and a 2,300mAh battery.

Amazon is offering the 32GB HTC One for $49.99, currently the lowest price the smartphone has ever had. You'll need to sign a new 2-year contract and Amazon is throwing in free two-day shipping with the order.

$(".btn-out").click(function(){$(".story-img").toggleClass("bk-in").toggleClass("bk-out");});

Verizon has confirmed that it will begin offering the recently-announced BlackBerry Z30 smartphone soon.

The Canadian company has lost a major chunk of its handset market share to other big smartphone makers such as Apple, Samsung, LG, HTC, Nokia and others. However, BlackBerry is trying hard to regain a part of its market share with the launch of new devices.

"The new BlackBerry Z30 smartphone builds on the solid foundation and engaging user experience of the BlackBerry 10 platform with features like the powerful BlackBerry Hub, its exceptional touchscreen keyboard and industry leading browser," said Carlo Chiarello, Executive Vice President for Products at BlackBerry. "The smartphone rounds out the BlackBerry 10 portfolio and is designed for people looking for a smartphone that excels at communications, messaging and productivity. Having apps like the full Documents To Go suite that comes preinstalled, together with its 5" touch display, the BlackBerry Z30 smartphone gives you a best in class productivity experience on the go."

On Sept. 18, the company also announced that the latest BlackBerry Z30 will roll out from select carriers and retailers around the world beginning next week in the UK and Middle East and the handset will reach other regions in the holiday season. However, Verizon has now confirmed that the handset will arrive on its network soon.

"The @BlackBerry Z30 is coming soon to the Verizon Wireless #4G LTE network," tweeted Verizon.

Currently, Verizon has four BlackBerry handsets in its portfolio, which include the BlackBerry Z10, BlackBerry Q10 and the BlackBerry Bold 9930 (with and without camera). BlackBerry fans will be pleased to get their hands on another top-end all-touch device from the carrier.

The BlackBerry Z30 is the company's second all-touch device (after BlackBerry Z10) to launch in 2013 and packs in top-end features such as a 5-inch display, a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, an 8-megapixel primary camera, 2GB RAM and more.

However, many new and top-end smartphones such as the HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4, iPhone 5S and more have launched recently, boasting even better hardware specifications. As such, it will be interesting to see if BlackBerry Z30 is successfully able to compete with its rivals.

A red Nokia tablet, likely the Lumia 2520, has previously appeared in leaked images with Verizon branding at the rear of the device. Now @evleaks suggests that the Lumia 2520 will be available from Verizon in two color options.

"Nokia Lumia 2520 headed to Verizon in black and red," tweeted @evleaks.

An image of Nokia Lumia 929 smartphone has leaked online with the handset bearing Verizon's branding at the front.

Nokia has been aggressively launching new top-end Windows Phone 8 (WP8) smartphones in 2013. The company launched the Lumia 925 and the Lumia 928 back-to-back in May and the company unveiled the highly-anticipated Lumia 1020 in July this year.

The Finnish company has an event slated for Oct. 22 where the much-rumored Lumia 1520 (Bandit) smartphone and the Lumia 2520 (Sirius) tablet will most likely make their appearance. However, there may be more devices coming to the smartphone space, as a recent image of Lumia 929 has leaked bearing U.S. carrier Verizon's branding.

"Nokia Lumia 929, for Verizon, in black, 2013. Also coming in white," tweets @evleaks.

A WPCentral report further suggests that the upcoming Lumia 929 will sport a 1080p display and a 20-megapixel PureView camera.

Previous reports indicated that the upcoming Lumia 1520 may be exclusive to AT&T in the U.S. However, an image of the white version of the Lumia 1520 with Verizon branding leaked online earlier this month, which hints that the phablet will also be available from other carriers in the U.S.

Images of both AT&T and Verizon version of Lumia 1520 have leaked online. However, there are some notable differences between the AT&T and the Verizon version of the upcoming Nokia phablet.

The leaked image of the Verizon version of the Lumia 1520 doesn't seem to have a camera bump at the rear of the device. The Verizon variant of the phablet also looks slightly thicker than the AT&T model, which may accommodate a bigger battery.

Nokia has not announced its plans to launch either the Lumia 1520 or the Lumia 929 at the Oct. 22 event. A strong possibility exists that the Verizon variant of the Lumia 1520 may be called the Lumia 929 and may be set to debut at the Oct. 22 event.

The Oct. 22 event is still nearly a month away and more leaks may emerge in the build-up to the event, giving us some indication of the upcoming devices at the Nokia event. For now, take all rumors with a grain of salt.
