AT&T has begun taking pre-orders online for the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini for $0.99 when signing a new 2-year contract. The smartphone will be available in AT&T stores on Sept. 27.

When Samsung originally released the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, it shipped the smartphone with an older dual-core processor, a small 1,500 mAh battery and Android 4.1. AT&T is now offering the handset and Samsung has provided some upgrades to the Galaxy S3 Mini's internals to make it more on par with current entry-level Android smartphones. Some customers might think that the smartphone's price is its best feature, since AT&T is selling the Galaxy S3 Mini for the very low price of $0.99 when signing a new 2-year contract.

HTC has confirmed that the HTC One Developer edition will get the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean software update this week.

The Taiwanese company released the flagship smartphone for 2013 in April this year and the handset shipped pre-loaded with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. Some select international models of the HTC One received the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean software update but customers on individual carriers in the U.S. and Canada are still waiting to receive an upgrade.

In mid-August, HTC president Jason Mackenzie tweeted that HTC One Developer edition will skip Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update and get the Android 4.3 software instead. Mackenzie also tweeted that all HTC One and Droid DNA handsets in the U.S. and Canada will get Android 4.3 Jelly Bean by the end of September.

Now the latest tweet from Mackenzie suggests that the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the HTC One Developer edition is not far and HTC One customers in Canada should expect to receive a software update by the end of this month.

"Good news - the latest Sense experience & Android 4.3 will push to One Dev Edition owners this week & One customers in Canada by month end," tweeted Mackenzie on Sept. 23.

Unfortunately, HTC Droid DNA will not get Android 4.3 Jelly Bean yet, as originally promised, but will instead get a Sense 5.0 update on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean by the end of this year.

"We're still working hard & optimistic for U.S. carrier certification - stay tuned to @HTCUSA for more news soon," added Mackenzie in a separate tweet.

Google launched Android 4.3 Jelly Bean along with the new Nexus 7 in July this year. However, only a few Nexus devices and the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition run on the latest Jelly Bean flavor. HTC One owners are not the only customers waiting for the new software update. Other Android device customers, including owners of the Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 2 and more will be hoping to get a software update on their devices as soon as possible.

In the meantime, the HTC One Developer Edition should get the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean software update any day now, if not already.
